Beach Treasures : Inspiration Avenue Challenge

There be none of Beauty's daughters with a magic like thee;
And like music on the waters
is thy sweet voice to me.

When, as if its sound were causing
The charmed ocean's pausing,
The waves lie still and gleaming:

And the hill'd winds seem dreaming.
And the midnight moon is weaving
Her bright chain o'er the deep;
Whose breast is gently heaving,
As an infant's asleep:

So the spirit bows before thee
With a full but soft emotion,
Like the swell of summer's ocean. - Lord Byron

  1. Amazing and beautiful! I love the detail in your mermaid!

  2. OMG! That's a heck-a-lot of work there! So many details and such an interesting piece. Very pretty.

  3. Hettienne,

    Your doll and her "underwater" boudoir together are gorgeous. Lots of treasures throughout! Enjoyed the Byron accompaniment, too.

  4. Ooh Hettienne she's amazing! The attention to detail and rich colour and textures ... yummy! Your work is really inspiring :)

  5. i just loved making her - had to keep on adding little details - i love the idea that this is her boudoir - i am going to add a real pretty vanity mirror!!!

  6. What a treasure! Your work is so detailed and full of love...

  7. Beach treasure indeed - this is so magical and detailed. Adorable!

  8. I'm not sure how I missed this, but I am glad there is a weekly recap. This is stunning, rather over the top, and so full of details it isn't funny. I especially like the table legs/feet and the top of the box. Your mermaid is perfect, too with her body bent in a yoga-esque repose. Color me IMPRESSED!

  9. What a lovely mermaid with all her treasure. You obviously put a lot of work into this piece.

  10. thank you - comments are always appreciated :)
